Our Ask An Expert feature focuses on common questions from clients, members of the community, and other home renovation sectors regarding their windows and doors, industry trends, and any new happenings at Verdun.
This week, we received a question from Ashley asking if replacement windows must be triple-pane in order to qualify for the Greener Homes Grant.
I have heard that to qualify for the Greener Homes Grant, replaced windows must have a triple-pane. Is this true?
Thank you for sending us this question, Ashley.
For many companies, a triple-pane window is required to meet the new Greener Homes Grant energy efficiency guidelines. However, for us at Verdun, our double-pane does the trick.
In fact, it not only does the trick, in many cases our double-pane and triple-pane windows meet Energy Star's Most Efficient 2021 designation, meaning a maximum financial return through the Greener Homes Grant. The same rating applies to many of our windows, such as bay windows, bow windows and custom shaped windows!
Whether you get a triple-pane window or double-pane window, everything we manufacture meets the requirements necessary for the Greener Homes Grant, so you can rest assured that you are getting the best windows for your home and your energy efficiency.
Thanks for Asking an Expert, Ashley!
We appreciate the question and hope this helps clear up some of the confusion surrounding the Greener Homes Grant!
